An Opportunity for an Investing Championship
A Long Term Big Win
Most of you have likely seen the 2000 Academy Award-winning film "Gladiator."
Australian actor Russell Crowe portrays exiled Roman general Maximus Decimus Meridius in that film. After the betrayal by the Emperor's son (Commodus played Academy Award winner Joaquin Phoenix), Crowe is exiled and eventually finds his way back to Rome as a gladiator.
Growing up in the 1970s and 1980s, we didn't hear or see much about gladiators. TVs and movies were much more about the Old West and World War II. Going back to the earlier days of film, though, there was a robust and popular gladiator genre.
The word "gladiator" comes from the Latin word "gladius," meaning "sword." The term means "swordsman".
It is uncertain when the first gladiator games began, but many historians think it was about 300 BCE. It appears they may have started as tribute in the funeral rites of dead leaders.
At their peak, it is estimated that as much as half of the population of the Roman Empire attended the games in some form. That is an incredible number!
What if we told you there is an opportunity to own a unique asset with that kind of popularity? One without the violence!
Also, one, though, that you can buy at a fraction of its actual value.
